“I have loved that at both Crafternoon events so far, I have learned an extra craft or skill that wasn’t even planned for,” Holt said. “… I learned how to make a paper crane from Shaylee Yates… I learned how to turn a Ginkgo leaf into a butterfly from Gideon Fynaardt.”
The club’s cleverness does not stop there – Holt continued to explain the creative ingenuity behind the program. Lee’s desire to use recycled goods and regular household items for her crafts teaches the various ways that art can be economically kind, and even encourages it. Some of the projects the group has accomplished include, tote bags created from old T-shirts, decorative hangers and pumpkins made from cardboard tubes! Holt even says, “pretty soon, it’ll just be an “eco-friendly-craft-trading club”.
