Almost two months into the action, the Northwestern baseball season enters April with high hopes for what has already been an exciting season. As of April 1, the Raiders are at an overall record of 18-10 and a conference record of 7-5. That places the Red Raiders fourth in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). NW has 18 games slated this month before the GPAC Tournament.
In team statistics, senior Luke Wroblewski leads the Red Raiders in batting average at .500 through the 26 games played. This has placed him atop the GPAC rankings for batting averages as of April 1 as well. Wroblewski is also second in the GPAC for stolen bases at 19. In pitching, senior Drew Dykstra leads the GPAC in earned run average with a 1.29 ERA, also leading in wins (six) and ranking second in strikeouts (57). Notably, Dykstra threw NW’s first no-hitter in 10 years against Cornerstone (MI) in March. He has been named GPAC Pitcher of the Week two times this season. Sophomore infielder Brody Ayers ranks first in the conference for saves at six.
In contrast to previous seasons, the Raiders are performing well in both conference and non-conference action. Between 2021 and the beginning of 2025, the Raiders posted an 85-112 record and a GPAC record of 51-61. Within those years, the Raiders have enjoyed a winning record at home matchups between 2022, 2023 and 2024. This season, NW has found wins away from Orange City, with an 8-4 away record and just a 2-4 home record.
April is loaded with games, so there are still plenty of opportunities to watch the Raiders this regular season. NW has their next home series on April 11 against Morningside. Minnesota State (Mankato) will visit NW for a game on April 16 and Doane will visit on April 18 and 19 for a four-game series. The Raiders play their final home series against Midland on April 25. The Raiders play their home games at the baseball field next to MOC-Floyd High School. For more information on Raider baseball, visit NWCRaiders.com, where schedules, live scores and statistics are
