Chicago is a city where possibilities are endless. From its towering skyscrapers to its stunning architecture, the Windy city has something for everyone. At the end of April, 16 members of Northwestern’s business club will spend a weekend in the breathtaking city.
With Chicago’s bustling business scene, a highlight of the trip will be touring various businesses. Its diverse range of financial, banking and investment firms makes it a prime location for every business major.
“I am looking forward to seeing all of the beautiful architecture in Chicago along with touring businesses and top tourist attractions,” said club president Kami Howell. “It will be fun to hang out with everyone too!”
In addition to learning about established industries, the students will be connected with NW alumni who have already made Chicago their home, allowing them to explore the different areas of business that they may want to go into after graduation. The trip also serves as a way to give students a personal look into one of NW’s established connections with the Chicago Semester, there they will have the opportunity to be immersed in the culture for an entire semester.
Of course, no trip to Chicago would be complete without visiting some its most iconic locations. Just walking around the city, there is no shortage of public art installations, including beautiful parks and unique attractions like the Navy Pier and the bean sculpture in Millennium Park.
One of the main events will be experiencing the heart of Chicago at a Chicago Cubs baseball game. From the smell of hotdogs and popcorn to the roar of the crowds, the atmosphere of Wrigley Field is sure to be a highlight.
Overall, exploring the vibrant and dynamic environment of Chicago’s business scene will be an incredible opportunity for NW’s business club.
“As board members of the club, we have been planning for this trip for months in advance, and now the trip is finally approaching,” Sofia Sandbulte said. “The itenterary for the trip is packed with exciting events and activites. We will be visiting different companies and organizations, attending conferences and net working events, and exploring the local culture and sights. We cannot wait to expand our knowledge and gain valuable insights that will help us in our careers. Moreover, the trip also presents a great opportunity to bond with fellow club members.”
The city of Chicago contains arrays of opportunities for students to experience real-world business life and enjoyable tourist sites for the attendees to enjoy.
