A new attraction is coming to Orange City and hopes to bring with it a fun new dining experience. P’s Pizza House in Le Mars, formerly known as Mr. P’s Pizza and Sport’s Grill, broke ground yesterday (Thursday, Oct. 1) on a new location in Orange City. The new structure going up east of Holland Plaza Theatre will be the second location for the business.
“I bought the business six years ago, and it was kind of a career goal of mine to expand,” owner Joe Sitzmann said. “So we decided to start looking. After talking to some community members and leaders we thought [Orange City] would be a good fit.”
Stacie Jorgensen, account executive at Agency Two Twelve – a marketing and public relations agency working with P’s – added that the amount of business they received in Le Mars afforded the business the opportunity to expand.
“Having the college in Orange City is a huge draw,” Jorgensen said. “Having the student body not only come out and eat, but also be potential staff is something P’s is looking forward to.”
According to Jorgensen, plans have been in the works for about two years.
Sitzmann hopes that P’s can become a popular hangout spot for students and local families.
“The Orange City community is a very vibrant and progressive community so it was a good fit,” Sitzmann said. “We’re very excited about the location and the community has been very positive. We feel like we’re being welcomed into the community and we are excited to serve the people of Orange City.”
Jorgensen also hopes that P’s becomes a popular place in the community.
“Our hope is that P’s will be a go to place for young adults to go and have a great experience as far as food and atmosphere,” Jorgensen said.
Jorgensen also mentioned that the “Sunday Ticket” brings a crowd on Sundays (as well as Monday and Thursday nights) to watch football while experiencing the great atmosphere of P’s. This tradition will carry over to the Orange City location as well.
Quality is also an important aspect to the company.
“Our goal is to provide classic American food with quality ingredients,” Sitzmann said. “We strive to be progressive with our menu, offering our traditional favorites such as pizza and wings and pair it with unique flatbreads, burgers and pastas. Our menu is ever evolving.”
P’s has brought in specialty brews that are not served anywhere else and because of that has earned an exclusive reputation.
“Food first, drinks and serving families encompass all of what P’s is while being unique as well,” Sitzmann said.
The new location is expected to open its doors Spring of 2016.
