Nontando Hadebe was on campus Mon. and Tues. speaking to faculty, staff and students about her recent experience at the UN Conference on the Status of Women in New York, her work in the area of social justice with Sojourners in D.C. and her passion for womens’ empowerment. Her own life’s work displays this passion; she was instrumental in the organization of the Binga Crafts Center, a cooperation of women in Zimbabwe who make crafts such as these grass baskets, which will soon be on sale at Hands Around the World downtown.
