North Suites
What made you decide to come to NW and become a resident director? I knew the impact that our program had on students because I graduated from here. I had an extremely positive residence life experience and there was not a school
I would rather do it at than here and the position was open. I love NW and the growth I had here during my time as a student.
What did you do before coming here?
Admissions counselor at NW
Did your college experience impact your decision to be an RD?
Definitely. The whole reason behind it. I know there is a lot of intentional effort and focus. I saw that from a student and now as a staff member. I lived in Colenbrander Hall all four years.
What are you most looking forward to about your new role?
Seeing the way that students come to appreciate their neighbors. I am excited to see friendships develop and excited to see trust built and to see memories made.
Biggest concern going into the job?
I have not been out of school that long. I don’t want to try to re-live my glory days, but live alongside guys that are living theirs. I want to help provide that guidance and leadership to them as they’re living their college adventure.
How did your wife feel about moving on campus?
She has been an awesome support. She knows this was a dream job of mine. She now jokes that if she ever has to say a fun fact she will say “she lives with 68 men.” Not many people can say that unless you’re another RD’s wife.
What is an earthly thing you can’t live without?
Mexican food and my CD collection. (Dave Matthews Band, Death Cab for Cutie – 2 favorites)

What made you decide to be an RD at NW?
My sophomore year in college I knew I wanted to be an RD. I loved student development. It was awesome to get my master’s and be a senior RD at Taylor University. My actual boss at Taylor was an RD at NW and he had a lot of great things to say about it.
What are you most looking forward to about your new role?
I can’t wait to be part of the Fern family in a sense of really getting to know everyone and have the opportunity to be comfortable with the students. I am also excited to host some programs to allow students to experience culture on different levels.
Did your own college experience impact your decision to become an RD?
Hands down. It all comes down to my college experience. My sophomore year RA was very intentional, planning events, and creating community. I was never a resident assistant, but I always knew I wanted to be an RD.
What earthly things can you not live without?
Trees. I love trees, baby carrots and Lord of the Rings.
What are three words to describe yourself?
Sarcastic, Goofy, Considerate

What made you decide to come to NW and become an RD?
I had a great experience here at NW as a student. This place served me incredibly well and I wanted to come back and serve students in the same way I was served. NW embodies community really well. I want to help teach that to students.
What did you do before coming here?
[Attended] Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Penn. where I got my master’s in Higher Education. I was also an RD [at Geneva].
What are you most looking forward to about your new role?
I love the goofy times late at night, doing crazy ridiculous things. I love seeing students grow and develop into who God created them to be. I am always excited to see freshman break out of their shell and to really take a part into something bigger than themselves as well as to see the full transition of students into their senior year and make plans to live into who God created them to be.
How did your wife feel about moving back on campus?
She has had three years under her belt already [from being RD at Geneva]. She loves it and loves guys coming in and hanging out. It is great here because the guys take part in her life as well and want to get to know her well. She loves that there are always something going on. There is always the funny stories of guys getting caught in their underwear when she’s
around. They freak out more than she freaks out.
