When it comes to Northwestern Raider athletics there is so much that can be said about the level of excellence and dedication that is shown. This can be shown in the still continuing seasons of both our Red Raider women’s golf and men’s golf teams this fall season. These are two teams who have shown great strength in the past few years and are bringing new life to tournaments this year. The NW raiders golf teams have both brought in a couple of tournaments under their belts.
The Raider men’s golf team has participated in four team tournaments this year. The first of the year being at Lincoln Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where the team tied for fourth place out of 13 at the UC Ferguson Classic. Then was a tournament at Sioux Center at The Ridge Golf Club on Sep. 9. Then was the first and only home tournament at Landsmeer Golf Club where the men’s team took first place out of 18 teams. Then having their last tournament at Willow Creek in Le Mars where they tied for fifth place out of 14 teams. The men’s next tournament is on Sep. 23 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
As for the Red Raider women’s golf team, they have had a successful start to their season as well. Their first tournament was on Aug. 29 and 30 at Mount Marty’s home course Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton, South Dakota where our women’s golf team placed eighth out of 13 teams. Next was Omaha, Nebraska to the CSM invite on Sep. 9 where the team placed third out of 10 teams. The latest tournament was in Indianola, Iowa at the Simpson Fall Invite where the team placed fourth out of 9 teams there. The next tournament will be a junior varsity tournament at Landsmeer Golf Club on Sep. 24. The next varsity tournament will be held in Sioux Center on Sep. 23 23rd at The Ridge Golf Club.
With these next few tournaments coming up we are all very excited to see how far these two teams can go this year.
