Coach Stephanie Martindale announced on Tuesday that she will be stepping down from her position as head softball coach and event staff/promotions director at the end of the year. The 2010 season was her first year at the helm of the program. Martindale, along with assistant Dave Hulsart, headed up a team that went 9-31. So far into this young season, the Raiders are 2-12.
“We appreciate Steph’s contributions to the softball program, athletic department and Northwestern College,” said Northwestern Athletic Director Barry Brandt. “We wish her God’s blessings in the very important job titles of wife and mother that she has added.”
Martindale was a four-year starter at South Dakota State, where she graduated in 2007 as the program’s all-time leader in home runs and RBIs.
