The Red Raider softball team split games with Buena Vista on Wednesday, claiming the first game, 6-2. Sophomore Kami Kuhlman earned the win, allowing eight hits and one earned run. She struck out two and walked none.
Freshman Heidi Esdohr went four-for-four and scored two runs. Kuhlman went one-for-four, batting in two runs and scoring once, while sophomore Shelby Johnson belted her second homerun of the season.
Game two took a different turn, as the Raiders fell 0-8. Junior Jessica Hooper gave up seven hits and six earned runs to take the loss. Kuhlman relieved her after 4.1 innings, giving up five hits and one run. Six Raiders had one hit, including Kuhlman who extended her 16 game hitting streak.
The Raiders are set to take on Midland Lutheran this afternoon in Fremont, Neb.
