President Bruce Murphy issued a statement yesterday publicizing Dr. Karen Cianci’s resignation from her office as Vice President for Academic Affairs at Northwestern College. Her resignation becomes effective Oct. 17th.
In his brief statement to faculty and staff, President Murphy said, “I would like to thank Karen for all she has contributed to the college in the last three years and offer her encouragement and support as she seeks God’s call for the future.”
Dr. Cianci was not available for comment.
Dr. Cianci’s contributions to NW range from the academic sphere to residence life, where she helped launch themed housing.
Senior Jessica Meuller, resident in the Tamar house last year, commented, “As our house advisor, Dr. Cianci helped us see the importance of being together if we were ever going to understand one another and grow in Christ as a community.”
While her duties as VPAA end mid-semester, Dr. Cianci does plan to complete the ICLA class she is currently teaching.
