O
ne thing about me is that I have a lot of hobbies, such as crocheting, taking Buzzfeed quizzes, palm reading, and brewing coffee and tea (skills which I have picked up from working as a barista for five years). Given my ability to vaguely guess people’s personalities from lines on their hands and the overall vibe I get from them, I decided “Why not write an article applying the same principles to common latte orders?”
To preface, when it comes to personality readings and Buzzfeed quizzes, these are all blanket statements that give an indication, not a complete sign that this is truly what your latte order means, but instead, it signifies that most people who order their lattes in this manner have some aspect of this in their personality. In other words, take what resonates and leave what does not.
I will start with the temperature of the latte you order. If you order a latte that is hot, you are very practical, have good common sense, and tend to be a very social person. You have a warm personality and a passion for life and all the opportunities it brings. If you order your latte cold (meaning with ice, or chilled), this indicates an artistic temperament and a very bright mind. You are very calm and collected and have a stable mind which comes in handy when life throws unexpected things your way, which tends to happen often.
Next, we have the different kinds of milk and what that implies. If you order a latte with regular 2% milk, this means that you are family-oriented, have a big personality and are dedicated to what you put your mind to. In the coffee world, regular milk with any fat content at all tends to mask the flavor of espresso and the syrups that are put within your coffee. Given that this order has milk as the main star of the show, this represents that you have a sort of “main-character” energy about you. Next is almond milk, which has a water base and low-fat content, allowing for the taste of espresso and syrup to be excellently supported and not overpowered. In relation to a person’s personality, this person is soft-spoken and quiet in support of the friends around them. For the oat milk drinker, given its very creamy texture and ability to support the flavor of espresso and syrup without overpowering the flavors, they are a strong friend who is able to support themself while also being a strong base for their other friends to lean on.
Next, we have the three main flavors, caramel, vanilla and mocha. Given the heating process in which caramel is made, this flavor tells me that you are someone who thrives under pressure and goes through trials with a sweet disposition and outlook on the grand scheme of things. This person is very perseverant. For vanilla, one may think this person is basic, but they’re not basic, they’re a fan of simplicity. A person who gets a vanilla latte is someone who recognizes that joy resides in the simple pleasures of life. They probably have a collection of stickers, trading cards, or little trinkets that they bought with their pocket money. Lastly, we have mocha. Mocha is a dark chocolate flavor that represents sophistication and appreciation for finer things in life. You are very smart, well-rounded and have good judgment.
While there are many other flavors of coffee to discuss, and a variety of milk to choose from, know that no matter what your coffee preference is, you have been created uniquely and wonderfully made and that deserves to be celebrated with a nice, iced latte.
