The Red Raider wrestling team came out with a dominating performance against Minnesota West Community College, scoring all six points possible in all but two weight classes.
Freshman Angelo Quintana came out quick in the 125-pound weight class, pinning his opponent in 4:05. Fellow freshmen Pedro Ruiz (141 pounds) and Jerod Flores (149) followed up with wins by fall as well, pinning their opponents in 5:37 and 0:51, respectively. MN West gave up forfeits in the 133, 157 and 165-pound weight classes, and the 174-pound class was open for both teams.
Northwestern continued rolling in the 184-pound weight class with freshman Luke Evjen recording a fall over his opponent in 2:16. The only decision of the night came from freshman Stanley Fleming, who won a 5-0 decision at 197-pounds. Junior Brad Hughes finished with a fall in 2:59, as NW won 51-0.
The Raider wrestlers will compete in the GPAC Championships on Saturday in Sioux City at 9:00 a.m.
