The cross country season closed for almost every Raider runner on Saturday at the GPAC Championships. Almost every one, except for freshman Will Norris. Norris finished eighth in the 8K race, which qualified him for the national meet, which will be held on Nov. 23.
Norris’s time was 26:56, and that led the men’s squad, who tied for fifth place. Sophomore Kyle Anderson placed 22nd in 27:32. Junior Logan Hovland was close behind with a 27:34 time for 27th place.
Junior Skyler Giddings earned 27th place in 27:39. Senior Zach Wittenberg finished his career with a 39th place finish in 28:06.
The women placed seventh overall. Sophomore Kelley Thurman ran her 5K in 20:03 and placed 28th. Senior Dawn Gildersleeve crossed the stripe in 20:24 for 36th place. Junior Amber Sandbulte came next in line in 20:37 for 45th place.
Junior Sarah Wittenberg clocked in at 20:48, which was good enough for 51st place. Senior Heather Heilman was the last Raider to score, and she recorded a time of 21:12 (59th)
