The Northwestern women’s soccer team prevailed against Mount Marty with a 1-0 win on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The Raiders improve to a 4-8-1 overall record and 2-2-1 in the conference.
Both defenses played a tight game as the two teams remained scoreless for the first 82 minutes of play. Senior forward Tyler Farr scored a goal in the final minute of the game off of an assist by junior forward Michaela Gibson.
Farr now has 11 goals on the season, which ties her for fifth all-time in goals in a single season.
Although it didn’t show up on the scoreboard, the Raiders controlled the game offensively and outshot Mount Marty 22-6. Sophomore forward Jadhai Dunk and Farr each recorded five shots. Sophomore Jennifer Inge notched three saves as goalkeeper in the match for her second shutout of the season.
The Raiders will play tonight at Dakota Wesleyan. The game will begin at 6 p.m.
