Sophomore Zach Fishman and junior John Lynch, practice partners throughout the season, competed in the NAIA National Wrestling Championships held during the first weekend of March in Des Moines. Both Fishman (165-pounds) and Lynch (157-pounds) failed to place in the tournament.
Fishman on the tournament:
“Not doing well just gave me motivation to train harder for next season. My goal is to become a champion and that has not changed.”
“The tournament always has a great atmosphere as well as the city of Des Moines. Obviously, we did not get the results that we were expecting but getting down there was nothing I would ever regret.”
“Coach (Rik Dahl) was proud of both of us for qualifying for the tournament but he knows just as well as we do that we definitely did not perform to the best of our abilities.”
“We were a very young team this year and I am definitely looking forward to seeing us come together as a team next year and continue to grow and improve.”
