Depending on how each champion does with the task at hand, they are given points that carry to the next event. Then, the champion who wins the most points across all three tasks wins the Triwizard tournament, bringing home the Triwizard cup and $1,000 as their prize! There truly is a lot at stake.
While talking to NW’s candidate and Toucandin member, Cade Pederson, he expressed his excitement. “The thing I am looking forward to most in the competition is to compete and represent NW the best way I can and bring home the Triwizard Cup,” he stated. Clearly, the pressure is heavy, but through the support of his fellow classmates, Cade expressed how he is ready for anything the championship throws his way.
The competition was made to create community among not only NW, but the surrounding schools as well. As SAC member, Gideon Fynaardt, put it: “We hope to inspire some friendly competition with our neighboring schools and to have our NW champion, Cade, come out victorious.” Though there may be some rivalry between them all at the moment, the outcomes of the event are expected to create a bond unbreakable between students on all three campuses.
