The Raider men and women competed at the SDSU Indoor Classic on Feb. 13 and 14. The event was a huge success for the Raiders according to athletes.
Sophomore Landon Greve said, “overall it was a great last competition before we get ready for conference”.
The meet at SDSU marked the end of the indoor season and the Raiders move into the GPAC championships. Greve and Sophomore Jonah Norton both highlighted the multitude of personal records the Raiders set at this meet.
This meet brought some big wins for the teams. Kalvelage ran just two twentieths of a second faster in the 200m than he did at the previous meet, but that was enough for him to take first place. The men’s distance medley also took first place with a time of 10:17.40. On the women’s side the distance medley and 4×800 meter teams took second place. Smith made it to the podium in high jump once again, placing third with a height of 1.63 meters.
The men’s and women’s teams both compete next in the GPAC tournament which will be held on Feb. 20 and 21 in Sioux Center.
